As you've probably experienced, few everyday events will boost your self-esteem and confidence like a fresh new haircut.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to know that you’re responsible for creating those positive feelings for people in your day-to-day life? As a professional stylist, your job is to give the gift of beauty to each person who sits in your salon chair. You will create the haircut styles they are looking for and guide their decisions based on your expertise. And when they happily leave your salon, you can feel good about brightening somebody’s day and making a small difference in his or her life.
At Jolie Hair and Beauty Academy, our students develop the skills necessary to create polished and trendy looks for their clients. The hands-on program provides students with the experience of creating a variety of different haircut styles for men, women and children. Under the guidance of a professional cosmetologist, students learn haircut techniques such as creating texture, applying hair color and performing both permanents and chemical hair straightening. Students will then practice their techniques on clients in the student clinic and during externship opportunities in local salons. This experience not only builds our students' experience and confidence, but it provides many opportunities for building an impressive portfolio of work. After graduation, students can use their portfolios to show potential employers and clients examples of the haircuts and styles they know how to create.
As a stylist, one of the best ways to show clients what you can do is with a portfolio of haircut styles. Here at Jolie, we also have a haircut portfolio, which is available right here on our website. If you are a prospective student, this portfolio of haircuts and up-dos will show you the kinds of skills you will develop as a student in our cosmetology program. For prospective clients, this portfolio shows the types of haircut styles our students can create for you.
